Go2Web20

Go2Web20 is a very helpful web site for finding web tools. In this post I will show you some of the things I have found with these tools

Smore.com
Smore is a flyer making tool that would be useful for selling something or advertising an event. It uses very vibrant colors and background mixes to make a product seem very inviting. If you need to advertise a garage sale or something of the sort, this may just be perfect for you.

Fontpro.com
Fontpro is a site used for organizing and finding fonts for use with various applications that may need them. It stores many fun fonts that portray a wide variety of moods, which is again extremely useful.

Firefox extensions

Many people use the web browser Mozilla Firefox, since it is among the three most popular and is the default on the operating system Linux. So with it's usability comes flexibility and a load of things that can be done with it. There is a page for extensions and themes that are incredibly fun to use.

Nic Cage Addon
Despite the simple name, it may just be one of the most beautiful things ever conceived by man. It replaces every picture on any page with one of Nicolas Cage, and never stops being hilarious.

Themes
Moving into a different category, themes are a great way to customize your browser by putting a picture of whatever you want at the top of the browser.

Photoshop express

photoshop express is a free, in-browser photo editor that has a lot of flexibility, and is a much smaller derivative of the renowned software "photoshop." In this picture, I used the aforementioned software to edit this picture of Kyle Massey, AKA Cory Baxter from the incredible 90's anime, "Cory in the House." I have edited it so that his skin is blue (my favorite color) and the sky the color of macaroni and cheese (Cory's favorite food).

PhotoFunia

PhotoFunia is a very different type of photo editor, which in most cases uses a facial recognition algorithm to apply interesting effects to said faces. You can put your face on Times Square, or you could put it on a piece of vintage communist propaganda for example.

If you want to put Nicolas Cage's face on obscure things like this (or your own face if you're into it) Click Here

piZap

piZap is a fun photo editing website that lets you use pictures of cartoon or realistic face parts that can be very interesting to mix.

If you'd like to create life in your own image such as this, Click Here.

BlogGif

Bloggif is a photo editing website with which you can create animated text, make gifs from multiple pictures, or do tricks with black and a trick called splash color as shown.

You can also give images animated frames like this

If you want to make some of these for yourself, Click Here.

Fotoflexer

FotoFlexer is a photo editing site that has some very interesting functionalities that make it stand out from most. It gives you the ability to change things like light curves, add masks, and superimpose animated stickers, all of which are demonstrated here, with the original image beneath it.

Wordle

Wordle is a word cloud creator that is rather well known, mostly because it works quite well. You can write whatever words you want, or link it to a web page, and it will represent the words and how many instances of the word were seen by how large the word appears. This picture was linked to a wikipedia article about blenders, so ref is the largest word.

Tagul

Tagul is probably the most customizable word cloud creator I've seen, which lets you import your own pictures and create a word cloud based inside it. This one I made from a picture of Sanic, and linked the word source to the Sonic the Hedgehog wikipedia article.

Google Voice

Google Voice is another Google utility that can replace your cell phone if you want to. As long as you're calling within the U.S. it's free to call any number, though you can't text. It's available on the same page as Gmail, which makes it very easy to use. Go to it here.

Animated Text

This is an animated text thing I made with cooltext.com. Make your own here.

Stykz Figures

Stykz is a simple 2d animation software that makes it easy to make simple stick animations in the form of a gif file primarily or if you would like, you could export it by various forms of video file.

I created this with stykz, and I found that the "Super Mario World overworld theme" was good background music for it.

Flame painter

Flame painter is probably the coolest painting program i've seen. The browser version is more of a showcase, but still a very interesting one. It uses algorithms to generate fire that looks very cool, and may be helpful to put in a logo or something.

This one I did with blue and purple flames, with hints of green for compliment. I imagine the Ubisoft logo in the center.

There is a downloadable version of flame paint which comes along with several other beautiful drawing algorithms. It costs $30 and is called Amberlight, and though I myself do not intend to purchase it someone more interested in visual still art would likely find it very much worth it.

Avatars

Avatars are characters, usually cartoons, used to represent a person or personify an idea to put a face to a name. Not only are they useful, they're easy to get, and fun to make. You can play around with them and create something totally weird, which is about all I myself did for the purposes of exploiting variety, something beautiful, or something just normal.

Polls everywhere

Polls everywhere is an easy to use polling site to ask simple questions and get simple answers. It's very easy to use, and you can also vote via text which is something I very rarely see in an age which it should be very common.

I can see someone in a business using it to get their employee's input on what they think could be improved for conditions.

Google Docs/Drive

Google docs is a useful tool for creating documents or drawings, which you can instantly upload to Google Drive, which is another useful tool for sharing files in a way that lets only the people you choose go to your account and access whatever you uploaded from any device.

I'll probably continue to use Drive for the sake of keeping things easily available, and having easy access to something from another computer. Docs, I'll likely use since I can't afford Microsoft office and for other classes I'll probably need to use some sort of word  processing.

Symbaloo

Symballoo is a site used to make an easy layout for bookmarks to whatever webpages you may use. It would be very useful to someone who uses lots of different sites, because it allows you to have some extremely large amount of linked images on a single page, with a google search in the middle.

I can't say I'll be using it much myself, however I would if i used more sites than I do. Being that I only use about 7 in total, I have no reason to. But if you use many and would like to be more organized about your navigation I would certainly recommend using it.

Voki - How to waste time

Voki is a web site that gives you the ability to create an avatar sort of thing for essentially whatever purpose you see fit. You can see mine to the right, that's the dude with the massive nose and the green hair. I think he's pretty cool. I like to use the text to speech to say whatever it is I want him to say, but the site does give you the option to record your own voice saying your message. When you've fully customized the avatar you are able to export it as html and embed it in whatever will accept it, however the creation of the avatar can be surprisingly hard given the extremely limited amount of options they will give you without paying for a premium account.

Though I try and fail to think of a practical application for anything like this, It's here, and it's about 20 minutes of time killed if you need it.

How I use the internet

I use the internet mostly for youtube videos to keep me entertained, especially channels such as Film Riot because I love to watch movies and hope to create them some day.

I also like to see what video games are coming out that people are looking forward to playing because I want to too.

I like to google random things and find random pointless stuff like this.
